Rise of the Idiots
Scene from the excellent "Nathan Barley" series in which Dan Ashcroft gives a commentary on the rise of the idiot classes.
This rant is probably the exposition of co-creator Chris Morris's own feelings on popular culture. In any case, he's describing in 2005 what what we call today Hipsters, before the term was really mainstream.

In england the term has been around since the late 90's really, especially in East London where Nathan Barley is taking place. Had the same video some time ago in my blog, bloody well said Dan Ashcroft!

Yeah, i live there and indeed I did this documentary which is basically a tribute to everything that's going away in east London.
The area is completely changed now and it's turned into a nightlife economy. The hipsters are not to blame, it's the local council that allowed that to happen.
But you know, shit happens and life goes on...
I am probably moving out as well in a few months, can't put up with it for much longer.
Moving out to where? I hope not to Greece...
No, nothing like that.
Just changing neighborhoods. I'll leave bricklane to it's conquerors :P
