The Hamburg-based duo gets your toes tapping, mind playing, feet moving, emotions travelling, head thinking, hips jerking. But above all, they make music that brings a smile to your face.

Imagine a mix of the art school elegance of Phoenix, the lively melodics of Feist and the emotional depth of Bon Iver. But to draw such comparisons is superficial and not especially helpful because what you miss is the originality of the BOY concept and the charisma of its two performers.

The BOY phenomenon began this summer with their first single 'Little Numbers'. Now, having conquered their native Germany and Switzerland, they are shipping their sharp brand of pop to the rest of Europe.

Εδώ Μιχάλης από το STATUS. Δεν σου έγραψα στο φάτσαμπουκ, αλλά θεώρησα καλύτερο να επικοινωνήσω πρώτα με την Inner Ear για να κάνουμε αυτό το mini interview (ξέρεις για να μην έχουν κανονίσει και κάποιο άλλο σε άλλο περιοδικό ή μέσο και λοιπά τέτοια βαρετά).

Είχα ακούσει τη δουλειά σου νωρίτερα, από τότε που διέθετες το άλμπουμ σου Barock για free download στο Ίντερνετ μέσα από το προσωπικό σου site και είχα φιλοξενήσει μια μικρή παρουσίαση στο περιοδικό. Πιστεύω ότι αν βρισκόσουν σε άλλη χώρα, θα σε είχαμε μάθει νωρίτερα και θα είχες μεγαλύτερη προβολή από τα media. Ας είναι. Τελειώνω με το μπλα μπλα και προχωράω στις ερωτήσεις μου.

Σε είδα να παίζεις στο Σύνταγμα τις μέρες της οργής – θεωρείς ότι ένας καλλιτέχνης/δημιουργός, έχει επιπρόσθετο χρέος να παίρνει θέση στα καυτά ζητήματα της εποχής του;
Όχι. Δεν το πιστεύω αυτό. Ο καλλιτέχνης δεν είναι ένα φωτισμένο άτομο που πρέπει να οδηγεί τις μάζες, να έχει πολιτική θέση και άποψη για τα πάντα και να έχει κοινωνικό έργο. Αυτό μου ακούγεται κάπως τραβηγμένο και επικίνδυνο. Σα να λέμε πως ο καλλιτέχνης είναι αυτός που πρέπει να ακολουθήσουμε. Από εκέι και πέρα, ο κάθε άνθρωπος πράττει σύμφωναa με την ηθική του. αν θες να δράσεις δράσε. ως άτομο. η ασχολία του καθενός είναι άσχετη με το πόσο τον αφορούν και το πόσο εμπλέκεται στα κοινά.

Πώς σου προέκυψε το ψευδώνυμο Nalyssa Green? Τι σημαίνει;

Στη μνήμη του Μανώλη Ρασούλη

77 καλλιτέχνες, 40 διαφορετικά σημεία της Αττικής και ένα αριστούργημα της ελληνικής λογοτεχνίας, συνθέτουν τον καμβά της δράσης και της δημιουργίας του «εναλλακτικού» video «Παίζουμε Οικολογικά - Ζούμε Λογικά - Ενεργούμε Ομαδικά».
Η πρωτοβουλία αυτή στηρίζεται στην πεποίθηση, ότι η τέχνη και κυρίως η μουσική, έχει τη δύναμη να εμπνεύσει και κυρίως να ενώσει τους ανθρώπους σ' έναν κοινό αγώνα.

Η σύλληψη και η σκηνοθεσία είναι του Θανάση Γκίκα:
"(...) Έτσι, δημιουργήσαμε αυτό το video, θέλοντας να δώσουμε το δικό μας μήνυμα για αφύπνιση, εγρήγορση, ευαισθητοποίηση και δράση για τη διατήρηση και βελτίωση της ποιότητας του περιβάλλοντος - της ίδιας μας της ζωής. Γιατί όταν λέμε περιβάλλον, δεν εννοούμε μόνο το φυσικό, αλλά και το κοινωνικό και πολιτισμικό!
Η πιο σημαντική πτυχή αυτής της δράσης ήταν οι άνθρωποι... Οι καλλιτέχνες και όλοι όσοι πίστεψαν στο σκοπό μας και θέλησαν να γίνουν αρωγοί σ' αυτή την προσπάθεια, με την εθελοντική συμμετοχή τους και να μας εμπνεύσουν με το δικό τους τρόπο.
Είναι σαφές, ότι μόνο μέσα από συλλογικές προσπάθειες και ομαδικές δράσεις θα καταφέρουμε να πραγματοποιήσουμε την "αλλαγή" και να κρατήσουμε την ελπίδα ζωντανή στο σημερινό "αδιέξοδο" που βιώνουμε όλοι. Ας αναλάβουμε λοιπόν τις ατομικές μας ευθύνες και ας ενώσουμε τις φωνές μας, όπως τις ένωσαν οι 77 αυτοί καλλιτέχνες, για να ξανακερδίσουμε το δικαίωμα στο όνειρο, για μας και τα παιδιά μας!
Ευχόμαστε να μην ανάψουν άλλες σπίθες στα δάση μας, αλλά να φουντώσει η "σπίθα" που άναψε πριν λίγο καιρό στις πλατείες."

Συνήθως ένας δημιουργός δεν συνειδητοποιεί πόσο σημαντικό είναι αυτό που κάνει τη στιγμή που το πραγματοποιεί. Αισθάνεστε κάποιου είδους καλλιτεχνική δικαίωση ύστερα από τόσα χρόνια, για το «Περιβόλι του Τρελλού»;
