Jim Henson's Time Piece [1965]

James Maury "Jim" Henson (September 24, 1936 - May 16, 1990) was creator of The Muppets and one of the most widely known puppeteers in American history.
He was also the leading source behind the long run in the television series Sesame Street and The Muppet Show and films such as The Muppet Movie (1979) and creator of advanced puppets for projects like Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth.

Back in 1965, Jim Henson, wrote, directed and starred in a short experimental film, Time Piece, which premiered at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. Running a short nine minutes, the film takes a surreal look at the passing of time. And, despite veering off into rather strange territory, the film struck a cord with critics and the film community. Time Piece would be nominated for an Academy Award, and it is now listed it in the collection of Free Movies Online.
